Salmon Pate, anyone?

Yesterday I decided to get the ingredients for a salmon pate to share with my, um, friend JG. I am amazed and confounded by the range of tastes in salmon pate, recipes of which include every ingredient from bay leaves to liquid smoke, worcestershire sauce to wine. The one global ingredient appears to me cream cheese, which sounds to me like cheating. Chopping Board has a nice and flexible recipe. I'll amend it to my tastes, and post the results.
