Returned and Reacclimating

I just had a nice conversation with my lovely neighbor, who was nice enough to care for my plant during my abscence. Here's how our conversation went:

"Hi Mary Lou, how are you? I should come over and get that plant from you today."

"Well, sure, and I thought I'd let you know that I just saw they delivered your phone book, and it's going to rain."

"Thanks, why don't I come get the plant first?" On entering her kitchen, I noticed that the plant -- less than a foot high when I left it a month ago -- was now over 1.5 feet.

"Wow," I said. "It grew."

"Well, I fed it."

"What, steak and eggs?"

She laughed, and told me the name of the product she used, how to mix it, and how often to apply it.

"Thanks, Mary Lou, I really appreciate it."

"Oh, no problem."

I didn't have the heart to tell her was that the smallish umbrella plant is meant as a bonsai.
